    LA gun bust

I don't know anything about the story, but I sure see some beautiful Colts piled up in those photos. A shame.

It’s sad because before the first major infringement of 68, this guy would have been congratulated on a nice collection!!! I heard he was supposedly selling guns and making guns in his home. Of course I’m taking that with a grain of salt. I just grinned ear to ear when I saw this in LA lol. I think a guy had about 1200 in his collection a few years ago whom apparently died of natural causes. Most people don’t realize how great the “gun culture” used to be in CA!!! Many of the giant names in the industry were from CA.
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit such crimes... such laws make things worse for the assualted and better for the assailants: they serve rather to encourage than prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man" Thomas Jefferson quoting Cesare Beccaria

I sure noticed that Python in the foreground. I think I can make out some real beauties in there. I imagine they'll be gently and carefully drop-kicked into a van or something. Makes me want to cry.

At least it's not being described as an "arsenal". You don't have an arsenal with Colts like that!

How many do you have to own to justify a visit?

Sure would hate to see my gold plated 125 anniversary SAA in a pile like that.

It must be a necessary requirement to make piles whenever guns are confiscated.

I couldn’t do that job. They’d fire me. They’d be like.. “ he took 8 months.. started with the Colts first. The Boas and other snake guns.. Found the matching box for each one that had one. Boxed them up. Eventually he got all the hand guns out... then started on the rifles... <sigh>

This always bothers me because a person is suppose to be innocent until proven guilty and they should have no right to treat an citizens property this way.

L A did this a couple of years ago, a court order made them return the property to the legal owner.

    from the linked article....
"Police were responding to a tip that someone had been manufacturing and selling illegal firearms, said Officer Jeff Lee of the Los Angeles Police Department."

Not a single one that you can see in the photos was home manufactured and were not illegal firearms. So now all it takes is one wacko to call in a tip that so and so is manufacturing illegal firearms and you get swatted. The police if they had any balls should not have fulfilled the warrant, much less destroyed this mans collection the way that they did. Someone tell me again why we are supposed to respect the police?

I call that a good start on a collection. Too bad they've been dumped in piles. I'm not saying that laws weren't broken as CA has some pretty draconian laws regarding firearms.
