    Peter Gunn

Been watching some old (late 50's) reruns of Peter Gunn. Definitely dated but the good thing is everyone is using Colts, Official Police and Detective Specials. Fun show if you like film noir detective shows.

The greatest scene on Peter Gunn.......

Gunn arrives at "Mother's" the floating gambling casino that sits just outside the 3 mile limit.

As he's walking through the room a large biker gets in his face.
Gunn says "Don't bother me, you don't know who I am"
    The biker continues.
Gunn again says "You don't know who I am".
Finally the biker says "Okay, so who are you".

Gun says; "I'm the man who's going to put a .38 slug in your stomach".
The biker looks down to see Gunn's Colt Detective Special pressed against his belly.
"Gee mister I'm sorry, I didn't know who you were".

The way Craig Stevens played the role was the epitome of cool.

Yeah, they play a few in a row, same with Perry Mason. It's a great show that has a pretty good noir feel to it. And of course the coolest theme song. Moving up to around 1967, does anyone remember Robert Loggia in "T.H.E. Cat"? He played a bar owning cat burglar.

I liked T.H.E. Cat. It was a short runned show.
One of the best episodes starred a very young Robert Duvall as a hire killer.

    T.H.E. Cat- was cool!

Used "Savate" when he had punch ups with bad guys etc!

Wish they would release it on DVD!

Watching Peter Gunn and Perry Mason kinda makes me want to buy a sport coat with shoulder pads and a Desoto convertible! And carry a Detective Special loaded with upside down HBWC's in a Berns-Martin shoulder holster. Oh well, back to reality.
