3 guns at strip mall. Seller was trying to sell at LGS and I was there. LGS lowballed him and I pulled him aside and told him to meet me down the street. We negotiated and I went home with 3 guns

This was back in the early 1980s when I was running a restaurant in a shopping mall. The delivery guy for the local produce company (his family's business) was a gun guy and had an Auto-Ordnance Thompson semi-automatic carbine to sell. We made a deal on it and he delivered it to me in the parking lot from his delivery truck.

When he originally bought the Thompson it was from a sporting goods store that was downtown in the city...he said when he bought it he simply carried it down the street to his car. Try carrying any gun much less a Thompson down a city street these days!

(The bar/restaurant is called the "Double Tapp"!!!)

In my home town, there has been ,for many years, pharmacist who sells firearms in his drug store.

I'll have to check it out when I visit my Melbourne relatives. Nice looking bar.

I bought a Colt Paterson 2nd Model Ring Lever Rifle from a mailman at an auto parts store in south San Antonio in the 1970s. He would ask all of the people on his route if they had any old guns. He found quite a few. That rifle is in the Phillips Woolaroc Museum now with many other Colt Patersons that Philip R. Phillips collected.

As a young kid I think I was 8 I purchased a new Remington 514 single shot 22 from our towns grocery/hardware store. In California. We only had about 150 people in town. And then as a teenager a nice 03 MK1 Springfield that was almost new but covered in Cosmoline from our local Monkey Wards. Both were about the same price.

I sold a long barrel model 29/44 mag to the Snap On Man at an airport back in the late 80s. I don’t remember the numbers but he ask about financing! I carried the note for half until his next week stop. I do remember the sales price was payback time for his Snap On tool prices! I made more profit on that gun than any other since. It was the gun from the hotel bar! I never see a Snap On truck that I don’t remember that buy/sell event.

The local high school near where I grew up in Vermont used to have an annual gun show at their high school.
