A couple of Republic of Texas era colts

Took my 6 year old daughter and 21 month old son on the final leg of a year long Texas pilgrimage today. Last August we did San Antonio and the Alamo, in June we hit Washington on the Brazos, today we hit the San Jacinto Battlefield. It's a nice museum and they have spent some money on it since I last visited.

Anyway, they had a bunch of Republic of Texas and Civil War era artifacts on display including the following Colts.

As an aside, the Gun Library in the League City Cabelas is depressing. Very few guns that weren't brand new...Ft Worth store has spoiled me.

Cabela's is owned by Bass Pro Shops, and they don't believe in the 'Gun Library' idea, nor are they interested in layaway programs - used firearms just aren't a part of their business plan, so don't expect much.

I had to turn my head to the left on trying to figure out but on the last picture do the lines on the grips run at a curve downward ? Nice pictures , thanks.

Yes, the checkering on the bone grips curve with the grips.

The Cabelas in League city isn't that old and there are a ton of used gun stores/ pawn shops in Galveston County to sell guns, plus collectors firearms in Houston.

The gun library in Ft Worth still has a ton of old used guns in it.

Have you ever been in the Fort Worth Cabelas?
