Person to person transfers as required by law here in PA can run from $25 to $?? in my area. That does not include internet transfers.

I've had a C&R FFL since I relinquished my Class 1 back around '95. Since I'm mostly into acquiring older guns , the fee of $30 for 3yrs is a bargain.

My favorite LGS charges $25 for used guns, and $50 for new. The mgr said he can usually get new for the same price as I could on a website. He has done new for several people, and the customer had $50-100 more in the gun than had they just ordered a new one from him.

Shouldn't this be factored into the up charge of the firearm. I guess I'd be ok with a higher transfer fee if the dealer sold the firearm for a lesser profit. Kinda seems like double dipping to me.

My LGS doesn't charge me anything, but I do a lot of business with him and bring him an occasional cup of coffee!

Prices within 100 miles of the ranch here vary from $15.00 to $50.00 with an average of being $27.00. (That is 22 FFLs advertised on GB.) The FFL I do business with charges $25.00.

Guy I used to work with is an FFL, I typically give him $20, he only officially charges me the state mandated $7. Otherwise, I've seen anything from $15-$50 here.

Around here, they varry. From $25. to 50. One shop does used used guns for free. One shop charges a percentage of the purchase price plus a fee. At shops that I'm a regular at, they will charge me $20 instead of the usual $45.
The West wasn't won with a registered gun.

My LGS-of-choice has just upped theirs from 25 to 35 in the last few months. Not an issue, as it had been 25 for years. If you buy a gun FROM them, obviously, no fee attached even if they special-order it.

I have seen FFL holders charge anywhere from $15 to almost $100 with tax. Those prices are for handling incoming shipments. Outgoing shipments require more time in packaging, so prices are higher.

BTW, that $100 figure for incoming was being charged by a large antique gun dealer in Houston. I hear that he lost many customers over this price gouging (including me!).
