    NASA Trip

This past weekend, my two hairy sons and I made a trip to the Houston Space Center and JSC. We wanted to make the whole 50th Anniversary thing but just couldn't get the schedule to work out.
We spent 2 days wondering around since our last trip there 14-15 years ago. It has changed a lot but the exhibits are spectacular. I highly recommend a visit!
Just to keep this slightly gun oriented...I did have a 1911 in the truck.

Thanks for the review. The wife and I have been wondering if we should make a daytrip down there from Georgetown.

Yeah...I give them a hard time but they are 26 and 31, Eagle Scouts, college graduates, well employed and living on their own...don't have a lot of control. They are a lot of fun to hang out with.

Part of the reason I bought a New Frontier was Colt marketing useing our journey into space.

Did you make it to Rocket Park and see the mighty Saturn V on static display?

Absolutely! We did that on day 2. That is one big rocket!
That is one of the changes. Now they have 3 separate tours of JSC. One is to the Historic Mission Control, one to the Orion Mission Control (Mars Program) and the third is to the Astronaut Training Facility. Rocket Park is the last stop on each tour.

We spent a lot of time in the Houston Space Center. They have the real Faith 7 Mercury capsule, the real Gemini IV capsule and the real Apollo 17 capsule.

Colt named the new revolver after JFK's New Frontier speach. There is a custom engraved New Frontier that was to be presented to President Kennedy but before that could be arranged November 22, 1963 happened. The New Frontier is now on displayed in the NRA National Firearms Museum.

PS. FYI, We have our very own NASA "rocket scientist" in Terry StClair!

    Nice trip report!

They will get tired of all the fur and cut it off.

I did that when I got out of the military- grew my hair long like Commodore Perry- just cause I could.

My S.I.L told me "You look like a cross between Kwai Chang Cane and Elvis. Get a Hair cut!- *Pangit!"

She was right- so I went down to the barber shop and got my ears lowered.

BTW JFK was a life member of the NRA and had his own personal M1 built by the Army marksmanship unit.
