    Standard Manufacturing

I received a call a couple of weeks ago from someone at Standard Manufacturing asking if I was interested in purchasing a 1 off single action. I was told it was duplicated from an original Colt SAA 1st gen frame and they have only built one with no intention of building another. It is a black powder frame and the sight is shorter than the other Standards and it has a v groove sight. If anyone is interested in seeing more pictures I will try to post more later.

Wow. There is a quite a few SAA fans out here that would be interested in them having intentions on building more of exactly that frame. IF I may inquire, what is your connection with Standard that they would call you directly to ask if you wanted that “one-off” gun?
I speculate that you are a dealer, but just wondering.
Blackpowder , V groove sight frames have always been hardly available for USA parts guns... Uberti parts USPFA guns from the 1990’s are all that way for the most part.
    It’s a favorite configuration. .. I think they could sell a few.

I work in a small gun shop in Mooresville IN and we sell a lot of their single actions and 1911s. We actually sell more classic guns than Glocks and such. My suspicion is this was a prototype for something else but I can not get any type of information from them on that. I also have a Buntline with a 16" barrel in BP frame that has a flip up elevator sight on it but it is not made to Colt specs.
what would you say and Ugly like this.

I’m an avid USFA collector , and I’ve managed to acquire the USFA version of their BP, V groove “Colt Specs” SA which they called Old army Original. Also have the USFA 16” Buntline, but I think all of those are really Uberti frame no matter when produced. It did come with the skeletonized stock and a really snazzy leather sleeve and walnut display box.
I still haven’t jumped on a Standard SA yet, but it’s just a matter of time and money .. towards that instead of other items. The Standard Manufacturing SA is a great looking gun for sure.
