So the chevelle , and this is kinda where I relate to Cosmos great post with the Porsche

i drove over it a few weeks ago . Was an awesome day , got comps and thumbs up ALL DAY , from EVERYBODY- young and old
hate the horrible wheel color and matching body paint , but those are my favorite wheels.

car has new triple black interior , and the top is pretty mint too .
if becomes mine , will shoot rims and body in BLACK..... back yard paint job .

Car has a doggy 307 , but the standard trans and cherry bombs kinda made up for it .

the technology on two and four wheel American muscle , just like Colts new versus old has the + and -
but doesn’t have the real deal , purist and cool factor
    Cozmo and Brassmonkey like this.

I did not send it yesterday ...... more to come
Yep, if it's not a Colt (or a Harley)........it's a copy. Except maybe........

Ok I guess I may as well be a rock in the beans. Things change with time. What changes with every company isn't the hardware but new management. They are the ones that have the biggest affect on the product. Companies change hands to new management with different ideas about what's important. Most of the time it seems the new younger guys don't want to build the way the older guys did. Colt, Harley and Porche are good examples of new manufacturing in my opinion.

What I miss the most and what changed my view of guns is the lack of real service on a product. Build a Colt Python that needs tuning then quit making or selling parts but it isn't just Colt. It seems there is no money for Smith in keeping old guns running too. Yet the SAA still has a supply of parts and smith's to work on them. The 1911 has everything going for it even as an old model because so many companies made them.

I guess what I am trying to say is companies see no money in good service in general, they would rather sell you a new gun than fix your old one. So they lose the real craftsman that make a company great. As I said the world changes.

I guess what it comes down to is we need to please ourselves with our pursuits , interests and purchases....

And no one else , with no explanation . People ask me me whole life if I like something- if I do , I will compliment

    If I do not , maybe I will say “ I don’t have to like it “.
not rude , or condescending- but I like what I like ,
and that’s all that should matter to someone.
Be true to thy self .

This post generally applies to Guns and Bikes .... you know my brand .

i can’t EVER see myself not liking Colts and Harley’s or wanting to quit .
    wether I’m 55 , sixty , seventy or eighty ..... God willing.
    if I don’t like a current model , I will purchase a previous one .

i rode bikes with lots of guys in the eighties and nineties, lot of them were all in .
Know how many of them still have bikes - not a whole lot .
but that’s ok , cos I’m in it for me.

like the above poster said - it’s NOT a hobby for some .
i know neither are some faze for me .

wanna ride my bike ? No , I HAVE MY OWN .

wanna shoot my Glock ? Sure , go hang it from that branch !

Look at the Colt Marine Pistol...NEW...How can you not like it? The new King Cobra fills a need for a lightweight 6 shot 357....as much as I liked the older ones, they were so heavy for a 357. Colt is making products I like RIGHT NOW. Do I miss the older ones? Yup, but I cant agree with the OP about the 1950 cut off. Do I want more variety out of Colt? Yup. But things certainly are improving after a 10 year or so dry spell.
And I just disdain motorcylces...no interest in them at all, but if I WERE into them, I guess it would be a Harley or an Indian (US made correct?).

Nothing wrong at all with what you like. I like all sorts of Colts. From their old school stuff to their AR’s. My favorite Colt I own has came in the form of their modular carbine. Not sure why, as I have a few of their rifles, 1911’s and wheel guns, but this just tugs at my heart strings more than the others.

We all have our love affairs. And not one of us are wrong for our preferences.
