    S&W M&P circa 1925. Rescued!

I picked this up online. It functions 100% and the finish has seen better days.

It dates to roughly 1925 by serial number and went back to the factory for a rework in November 1929.

The worn Pachmyers are off of it now replaced by a set of faux stags (maybe Catalin) grips that were hanging out in my grip drawer. They even have an old repair that makes them seem even more appropriate for this revolver.

    Best,
    Charles

I like it. Shows honest wear and age as a working gun. My favorite kind.

They sure didn't change them much. Mine dates to about 1953. It was a cop gun. I still pack it sometimes trail riding.
Everything you need and nothing you dont. Mine had Pachmyers on it too when I bought it.

Charles, that M&P must have seen some hard use to need a re-finish after four years. November 1929 is a real depression gun!

That M&P has had a hard life. Time for a good soak in Breakfree CLP. Maybe followed by bead blasting and park finish.
