Col. Jeff Cooper. An American Hero passes.

The Cooper family has announced that Col. Jeff Cooper has passed away.

At the request of the family it is my sad duty to report the passing of our founder, Jeff Cooper. Jeff died peacefully at home this afternoon while being cared for by his wife Janelle and daughter Lindy.

There will be a private internment at Gunsite by invitation, with a public memorial service at the Whittington Center at a date to be announced.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

    DVC,

    Ed

I pushed this down with a less significant post. With all due respect, I will put it back at the top.

My thoughts and sympathies go out to his family.
His huge footprint on the shooting sports will be remembered for generations. Pretty good legacy.

It is sad even when you know it is coming. He made a big impression on me. His words always made sense, and provoke thought. May he rest in peace.
