My amusing package delivery from Brownell ...

On Wednesday of this week, I ordered this small part from Brownell for my Colt pistol and received it on Friday via first class mail.
    Really quick delivery!
The amusing part of my story is that they packaged such a small part in such a large box - 6 inch x 6 inch x 9 inch box.
The small part could easily have been packaged in a small padded envelope.

$4 for the part and $8 for shipping.

Make sure to save the Box, in case you have to return the part. ( Lol...)

Well, it will be a good Box to store Parts or re-Loading supplies or other stuff in, anyway.

It seems Brownells and Midway always have a small order in a large box. Although, they do protect the items ordered, I have to hunt for the parts ordered in the box, LOL. I have an order for 5 parts from Midway and can hold everthing in the palm of my hand; I hope the box will fit in my mailbox and not put on the porch!

Midway is the best and fastest firearm part place with no questions asked return BUT, they desperately need to work on the oversized box thing. Got some recoil springs, 3 IIRC, in about that same size box. A man only needs so many "parts" boxes before they multiply like wabbits.

Mr. Potterfield has made tremendous strides in fixing their shipping issues. For a while I boycotted Midway for their confiscatory shipping fees on small items. Now they have a deal with UPS to take it to the post office and the P.O. delivers it. Much cheaper than a few years ago at least half the price.
I do agree that small parts could be popped in bubble mailer for $3-5.00 not $8.00.

Actually, I think that is my fault, at least at Midway. I ordered a set of Colt Walnut double diamond grips and a couple of Colt 1911 magazines and they dropped them all in a padded envelope and mailed them. When I saw the envelope on the dining room table when I got home from work my heart sank into my shoes and I was right, when I opened it up the grips were chipped on the edge. Midway shipped me a replacement set after I emailed them a photo but ever since then everything I have ordered from them has been boxed. (Not serious, although the story is true.)

I have had the same experience with them for one teeny stainless screw.
The only difference is that mine came in that box surrounded by giant green "bubble" baffles. Like it was something breakable. Hahaha!
