I don't even bother with the local gun shows any more. There is generally one every few months in my immediate area. The knife shows are still very good however if you like knives.

Yep, 1973. And as far as I know, the shrouded ejector rod was only on the 38spl and not the 22 Cobra.

That is the popular wisdom. To my knowledge, no body knows the proportion 50/50. 25/75 or the number produced per caliber. For what ever reason, they were never high demand revolvers for collectors.

It tells me that the market is saturated and folks won't sell them for less. Basically the sellers aren't very motivated.

A1A liked post by 22-rimfire On thread : Colt Diamondback 6" 22 with no marks on barrel
The gun does not appear to be a re-blue based on viewing your pictures. My concern is that it was a 4" that was re-barreled to a 6" and it may well have been done by Colt. My notes suggest that the...

The "limited utility" has nothing to do with the collector marker. Limited production does and certainly a 8" E-Nickel Trooper Mark III was a limited production gun, probably VERY limited. The 8"...

I suspect you are correct on the price of the NIB 22 Diamondback, blue no less. Yeah, I know... only ~2200 made.... But if a collector is looking for a perfect 6" 22, has the money, he goes after...
