Luckily, just now... I was able to find a new production Colt 1911 "Black Army"-(1 of 750) in stock and ready to ship! Any of you guys/gals had good luck finding one or..know anything about them?...

UPDATE: I have called S&G. Spoke to a not so friendly gentleman who told me to talk to my locksmith(...or to go fly a kite). Depends on how you listened to him I suppose. So, back to square one!...

T, I've called those folks (on several occasions)..and left numerous messages with 0 reply. Very unprofessional IMHO!

Looks like the only possibility. This safe has a unique lock/dial with the handle built in-so to speak. Not sure how difficult it will be to find something like that. S&G was absolutely no help.

Don't Apologize! That's great info, Twaits! THANKS for posting. I have a recent 1895 lettered gun without eagle grips. I hope it was fitted with early change-overs!

I thought so. The US Armament grips aren't very appealing to me. They are better off with the old hard rubber grips if they can't do any better than their current Walnuts!

Interesting, those grips look better than what I've seen on most US Armament pistols. Have they changed the checkering?

Maybe it was the angle or the lighting? Unfortunately it looks as handsome as it ever will again! Finish is pretty smooth to the touch. A little roughness here & there mostly near the muzzle and...
