Locks for older single action Army revolvers

I'm brand new to this site so forgive me if I'm not doing this correctly!
I own a 2 generation Colt single action army 45 lc. I have the original box, manual, and the gun itself.
My question is, since mine was manufactured in 1971 did the come with locks? I know all new guns do. But was it required way back then? Thanks!

Fortunately in 1971 the madness wasn't in full swing like today.
