Hello and welcome from another newbie. You might want to consider moving over the border to NH like I did. I have so many MA friends that are handcuffed when it comes to buying guns. I don’t see you situation getting any better.
Again, welcome and I hope you get your new Python, they seem like a decent value even with some of the complaints out there.

    First, hello!

Now that that’s said: Must every firearm produced be submitted to “the powers” in MA for approval??

I enjoy going to gun shops whenever I’m traveling, but MA is the one state I’ve given up on... they won’t let an out-of-stater touch or purchase practically ANYTHING. Such a shame that they’re “difficult”; it’s a beautiful state with an incredible amount of history!

Any firearm has to be tested by the State to ensure it is "safe". Can't trust those manufacturers to test their firearms. Same gun, different finish, different barrel length, different sights, needs to be tested. And of course testing is very, very expensive. So unless the manufacturers feel confident they will sell enough of a model to recoup the testing cost, they won't market them in that state.

Does MA require registration? My daughter (federal LEO) lives in CA. As she understands the new law requiring a background check for ammo, you cannot buy ammo for a gun not registered.
