So I kind of got out of guns and was concentrating on my 66 mustang. I hadn’t been in a gun store in a while. I stopped for lunch at a Jersey Mikes and a gun store was next door. I went in a saw my weekness a Colt Hammerless pistol. So I bought it to add to my collection. None of my other hammerless pistols are in this thread so I guess I’m behind.

This pistol is from 1904 and has the wrong grips. Slide is kind of warn but the frame is bluer that the pics show. Hope you like and I’ll add more later.

Somehow I missed or forgot about that....my bad.
Time to crack the book and re-read that.
I have none of them.

Book I page 77 Brunner mentions that
42 380 police Pistols were shipped with
deluxe hand-checkered walnut grips, (1924?)
But doesent say whom received them.
That is a lot of pistols!

I have never seen one although
I have 35, 380 police marked pistols.

Sam Lisker's "Colt Autos" lists some of these rare pistols
shipped to Haberman Hardware Company
for delivery to the Marion, Ohio Police Department.

There were a total of 16 pistols in this shipment from sn 18684 - 19195,
shipped September 17, 1914.
Note that these pistols were shipped with "Checkered Walnut" stocks.
photo's show the Fleur De Lis grips.

These are some type Is that are in my pile. I'll probably only ever see a new one (or more correctly, one that looks new...) in pichers. In a couple hundred years, maybe my stuff will be nearly as interesting if they survive. Meanwhile, what I got is what I got. I hope my grandkids will carry on with some of it at least.

As Randy Bachman put it so concisely:
"(I think that) any love is good love, so I took what I could get...
I took what I could get.
She looked at me with those big brown eyes and said,
You ain't seen nothin' yet."

A 1903, a 1904, and a 1905:

My wife and I made a trip to Kansas City over the weekend. You know how it is, sometimes you find something, sometimes not. Luckily it worked out this time. Found a couple of hammerless pistols. Here is the best one. It is factory engraved and letters with the pearl grips. Shipped in 1940 to Edward & Walker Company of Portland, Maine. This is a repeat post. Also posted it in the semi-auto section. Thought it needed to be here too.
