Another of my "Other-ish" gun stories ---

Thought to be a ca. 1890 pre-Steyr promo model chambered for something like a .22 hornet, made up in dueling pistol form --

I got it in Vienna, Austria 1948, probably $5 -- 1960s carried it around NY & PA area gunshows for months with a $200 price tag & no interest shown. Frustration calling for desperate measures, I put a $1200 price on it --- Allentown gunshow a major dealer saying he had spent his cash, offered me two 1860 Colt Armys for it. No finish but sharp & good scene, I traded it & still have the Colts --- & the story in memory ----->

I always thought these were interesting. Savage has made great economical guns for years.

Purchased earlier this spring at the Abilene Gun Show from the original owner. Though it has a turn line, he says its unfired. Bugs me to have a gun in the safe that I've not shot.

“It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carry the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life, or death ---- it shall be life.” - Ten Bears - “The Outlaw Josey Wales”
