    I have no idea how many I own. My acquisition includes a few longer but not many. I generally draw the line at 4 inches but much prefer shorter barrels.

    Smith and Wesson .38 M&P dating from 1928. Sent back in March 1951 and apparently converted to 2" stubby. Barrel is numbered to the gun. Mother of pearl grips added at some point.

    It is an early Commercial Model...with a really fun serial Number, 1 then all 7s...

    Someone had cut off the first 3/4 inch or so of the Barrel, leaving a sort of odd little narrow 'Tooth' of what remained of the front sight.

    So, I got it shortened further, and a new front Sight installed, to be how you see it now.

    I like how it turned out, and it is very nice to Shoot with.

    It'd be a fine CCW choice too.
