    Genuine Sambar Stag Grips...Colt SAA

    Just fitted my Colt SAA with Genuine Sambar Stag Grips...

    ====================================

    Sambar (Cervus unicolor unicolor) male, Kanha National Park, MP, India

    ====================================

    The Sambar (Rusa unicolor) is a large deer native to the Indian subcontinent, Southern China, and Southeast Asia.

    The large, rugged antlers are typically rusine, the brow tines being simple and the beams forked at the tip, so they have only three tines. The antlers are typically up to 43 inches long in fully adult individuals. As with most deer, only the males have antlers.

    The shaggy coat can be from yellowish brown to dark grey in color, and while it is usually uniform in color, some subspecies have chestnut marks on the rump and under parts. Sambar also have a small but dense mane, which tends to be more prominent in males. The tail is relatively long for deer, and is generally black above with a whitish underside.

    Adult males possess an unusual hairless, blood-red spot located about halfway down the underside of their throats.

    WOW! First, the Sambar itself is beautiful, and the fit is excellent. You did a great job. You mentioned that drilling the holes for the frame cross pins was tedious. Wow, it shows. Just a gorgeous job!

No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carry the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life, or death ---- it shall be life.” - Ten Bears - “The Outlaw Josey Wales”
