It will have to have a traditional Python level of finish or they better fuggedabout it. It has a lot to live up to and the level of finish required is going to cost. The action of the new Cobra and King Cobra is a baseline to start from...any new Python should be an improvement on that and that's a tall order.

If the finish is no better than the King Cobra or Cobra one may as well buy one of those. That's no insult to those revolvers but a Python is supposed to be something better...let's hope Colt has the people who can live up to the promise.

When I first posted this thread, everyone began to doubt what I posted and began to discredit what I found out first hand through a friend. Here we are near the end of the year and what do I see in the posts? Colt is introducing the new Python at the gun show and that the distributors already have them in hand to begin selling in January 2020. For all those doubters I think it's time to insert foot. I hope the new Python is successful and continues the Colt tradition. I hope there will be many other models to follow. I can't wait to see one in hand but for now I would love to see a pic of the new Python.

If it does happen, you may also want to pass out salt and pepper for all those that doubted you to eat their crow with.

Within a day of release by distributors, brokers will have them on Gunbrokers for starting bids of double MSRP. There will be examples with aftermarket ultimate finishes for even more. Once production catches up with demand the prices will crash to normal market levels.
