I was at auction , I thought it went for 26.
We talked , guy was a LITTLE snobby .
i asked if he did an expedited letter , he didn’t even know what I was talking about .
Said he bought it for one of my main 2 FFL’s ( storefront )

he bought more than a couple guns - seemed to have money .
i think he would’ve spent at least 5 more . There was really no action on it .
computers seemed to be having difficulty with online bidders .
which greatly helped those present ( about 50 )

i went to buy an 1887 WRA for cowboy, didn’t happen .
    i saw 1907 .41 SAA go for 850 ....... wish I got that , but would’ve been a back and forth.
    i saw 2 nickel 3rd gens w/ ivory stolen for 17 .
once again- if I bid , would’ve been higher.

it was a cool experience, I will definitely go again .
was kinda shocked I didn’t see BuickGS or SKW COLT

This is my main area of collection, snubby Pythons.

All 2.5" and 3" are suspect, until confirmed by original numbered box, or Colt letter, or Colt Model number confirmation.

It's not paranoia, if they're really out to get you....
Colt educations are expensive. Snubby Python educations can get real expensive.

So I ended up buying this gun from a local dealer right at the end of the month. I had seen it on the auctions listings but just kept going because I figured it was a 2.5" gun and i wasn't in the market. When I saw it was a 3" gun from the dealers listing it caught my eye. I was of course leary of the 3" barrel. Paul at Colt was able to confirm for me that the gun was indeed a 3" gun. I then called the auction company to find out what they knew about the gun and ask why they never got a letter. I mean they could have easily doubled or possibly tripled what the gun sold for if they got a letter. Anyway, I'll post some pics once the service stocks I purchased show up so it can be seen as it was intended. I've also requested an Archive letter for posterity. I did find that the metalwork and finish isn't up to my 65 and 76 pythons, but I do believe it to be original finish. Overall though it's a cool gun, feels great in the hand and looks great in the safe!

Good advice, thanks. Hopefully the letter agrees when it arrives.
