As soon as I can find one to buy it’s coming home! Beautiful gun and well done release by Colt. If they keep this up they’ll give S&W a run for the money in the revolver world again. And on top of that they don’t have that gay internal lock.....
Man I haven’t been this excited about a new gun in a long time!
Is that a QR code above the trigger guard on the right side? If so I’m not crazy about that. I wish they’d use a silver sight screw instead to kind of hide it.
Other then that, it looks like colt really went all out to try to make a good gun the right way. It’s definitely not a cheapo cobra with a vent rib. 5 years in to a gun, that they know really has a high bar of expectation. I just sold one of my 6” nickel guns, looks like my other SS model will have a baby brother.
Happy New Year to all. I just noticed this today, a great way to start the new year. I've wanted a Python since, forever, but the price has prohibited me even from thinking of one. I appreciate Colt stepping up to deliver a new version of the classic Python and am looking forward to learning more about it.
I really think this is going to help Colt a LOT. They are doing what I said in another post - building what they are known for, revolvers, and good ones. Not giving in to the masses and making double stack 9mms out of plastic. For the people that want a gun that's a little more special, and a little more of a retro experience, they can now get it from the best known revolver company in the world - Colt!
The videos are fantastic. If some of you don't/can't watch them, I've captured a few stills from them, so we all can see what the new Python really looks like, clearly.
Just looking at the pics and video it seems like Colt may have hit a home run. Outside is nearly identical to the original, Colt knew the looks of the original is where the mystique began.
14 less working parts and a better trigger? Sure, I like that.
Three more thoughts:
When and where can I get one at msrp?
What length barrel do I want first....why not both, lol?
The Colt rep said the "initial" run would be stainless steel. Can't wait to see the finishes available in the future!
