Dear All Forgiving Moderator, I have sinned and strayed off topic. I promise not to do that anymore. Snidley made me do it.

I looked at my new Cobras and King Cobras and the pony looks ok to me...but I have to qualify that statement with the fact I didn't use magnification and my eyes aren't what they used to be. Maybe ignorance is bliss.

Was anything ever clarified as to what the recall was, if it actually existed? I see all these people posting about already having theirs but no more mention about the recall.

It was a engineering development fix. Transfer bar was modified and a new part installed due to a very hard primer on one specific brand and loading during testing. Minor stuff. A 5 minute change out of the part. This should put this one to bed. Took about a week in late December. The guns have all been shipped back to the distribution chain. This should put this to rest.

From what was posted...maybe in another thread...it was not an official "recall" as normally thought of. Colt was having an ignition issue with one brand and load of .357 Magnum ammunition that had very hard primers. They paid to have all shipped Pythons returned for re-engineered transfer bars then sent them back to the distributors. There was no safety issue nor quality control issue. If these Pythons had been used by the buying public with that brand and load ammunition it would have been perceived as a Colt quality control issue...and that could have been disastrous for the Python's introduction. I say kudos to Colt for quickly responding and making it a non-issue before it could become a PR problem.

What brand and load ammunition it was I've no idea.

Python found on internet. This is what I am talking about.
Probably because it's laser etched and not roll marked like the older ones.

I just wish I could buy one, I have been searching online and locally and can't find one anywhere. I will not buy one on GB for a stupid price either. Frustrated!!!
