    I thought nickel plated Pythons had nickeled front sight pins and nickeled grip screws. That appears to be a fairly late nickeled Python so maybe Colt had changed that spec by that time. For that kind of money I think an archives letter should be provided for provenance but maybe the seller is unaware of that since it was supposedly his brother's gun.

    I’m sure you can do much better on this Forum. A 40 year old box/foam/label would never look that crisp. Yes, seems expensive.

    Box/Label are indeed reproductions. Red plastic cylinder "insert" is also not correct for a Python produced in 1979. Gun itself looks great...

    The box, label and paperwork and other misc. stuff got me thinking it's not original, but I'm no expert. I agree, the gun looks correct but pricey.

    I'm not certain but I know they weren't in use in 1979. I think they showed up sometime in the mid to late 80's...
