Anyone here Loading .38 Long Colt with the 'Heeled' Bullets?
Anyone here Loading .38 Long Colt with the .375 'Heeled' Bullets?
As I hope to be doing so in the near future, ( for my Colt "New Line" in .38 Center Fire ) please feel free to share any tips or insight and experience about where to get the Bullets or Molds, and how one would crimp these Cartridges?
I'll be trying to read up in the meanwhile as well...
I've been looking at loading the 41. This guy has a lot of good info.
And smkummer might be able to cast some bullets. I know he does 41, and his price is the lowest.
Thanks for the link!

These guys have some ready to go Bullets, also, they have Heeled Bullet Moulds, and Crimpers for Heeled Bullets -
I didn't see any 38 cal heeled bullets but this is where I get 44 cal heeled bullets for loading 44 colt BP rounds. Timing for delivery isn't always great but I have always gotten great quality bullets. Get my 45/70 and gas checked 30 cal bullets from him. Might be worth sending him a email. Hard to catch on the phone.
The modified Lee crimp die is the cat's patootie for crimping heeled bullets. The other solution is to modify a set of blasting cap crimpers, which, while usable, do not seem to be as consistent.

Wish I had my old Shop and Tooling still going...sigh...
I'll likely get the "Lee" one.
