I bid on this gun but didnít win it.

This is a gorgeous gun but Iím not crazy about the gold on it. It is a custom shop black powder frame though which I would like to have. Still, I didnít want to go above $1500 on it. Now Iím thinking maybe I should have...

    Any thoughts on this?

Did anyone here see this gun or bid on it?

It best to set your limit and bid to it. Its easy to get caught in the trap that its only $25 or $50 more than my last bid and end up paying a lot more. Also you don't know how high the winning bidder may have been will to go. They might have bid up a lot more, so maybe you wouldn't even have got it for 2 grand.

And in my case, anyway, I can always find another gun to spend money on.

I would have gone as high as $1250 imo. I kind of like the gold

You are absolutely right and that is why I set a limit of $1500 on it. I would have loved to have won it at $1200-1300 but $1500 was really my limit.

It is a very pretty gun though. Someone got a nice addition to their collection.

It`s a matter of taste. Personally on single actions I am NOT a fan of the all blue guns with no case hardening. We all love single actions because they are suppose to be "traditional"?? Since when was all blue single actions traditional a 100 years ago? In fact, when was the first all blue SAA made? Something like 30 years ago?

Not my taste in a single action , but that's why Howard Johnsons had 28 flavors.....Course that didn't work forever either

I'm not normally fond of embellished guns but that one of the more tastefully done I've seen. I wouldn't be offended if it had ended up in my house.

I had one of those some years back. Sold it or traded it off on something but don't remember what I got out of it. Those just don't do anything for me.

I don't know. I've been going kind of nuts lately on SAA's. I think it looks nice, except for the big COLT on the frame. I'd have bumped to 1550 just for fun. Maye 1600 - but like I said, I've been going nuts lately!

I had it on my watch list and was thinking about placing a bid on it which would have been $1500 hoping i would get it for less. The buyer got it for a good price of $1525.00. I had one several years ago and never liked the gold so I decided not to bid. I wouldn't have got it anyway.
