    Finally Won An Auction

I've been bidding on GB for my first SAA for several days and finally won an auction. I suspect I paid a little too much for it, but I got it for the minimum bid. And I'm a little partial to the .44 Spl cartridge. It looks good and I reload a lot of .44s. Anxious to see it when it arrives. Manufactured in 1979. Colt.jpg

Yelp, that's good news! I too just purchased Colt SAA 44 spl (from a forum member). I'll also be loading for it.

There is an old saying regarding Colts....you can't pay too much, you can only buy it a little too early....

Looks like a nice one with the nice hammer contour, the right height for the front sight, and polished around the top of the trigger guard. I'm sure you will enjoy it. My favorite barrel length in my favorite caliber. I have...of them. I guess I better not say.

The most popular configuration and the 'fit up' appears to be fine!

I’ve never bought from your gun’s seller before, but he is obviously a big dealer with that many feedbacks. He tends to be a little pricey, but at the same time, he has the items that nobody else or very few have..., and Colt SAA’s are in high demand and short supply.. and they know it. SAA’s are a sellers market if ever there was one for Colts.
I just bought a 7-1/2 Nickel 44Spl and was in the same price ballpark with the same era of box and complete package.. so don’t beat yourself up about the price at all. I too felt like I probably gave them maybe an extra hundred... so that’s a couple of boxes of ammo. If Colt keeps the same production pace, SAA prices aren’t coming down for sure. (and they’ve had a few case color issues and a recall on the most recent production SAA’s) If it was a 2000’s built gun in the custom shop blue box/ white sleeve, I can guarantee you that you could add a few bills more to that sell price in that configuration.
    Looks nice. Congrats.
