Picked this old Smith & Wesson 1st Model DA .44 in Kingman, AZ. The widow said her husband found it in a wash near Oatman, AZ many years ago.
    Living a dream.

    Relics

Colt was allegedly found at an abandoned mine shaft west of Silver City, NM, cuffs just outside entrance and revolver just inside. I bought the story not the gun.

S&W was my favorite companion for a few years.

Don't know why I can't select which files to insert.

New Mexico is a wonderful country to visit, I love the whole desert southwest, I like crusty old guns and I love your tagline. God Bless you too John.

Oh yeah, may take a part or two and a long soak in an ATF/Acetone bath but I'll bet you can make it run if you want to. Very cool.

Not much that can clean an old gun better than soaking it in ATF/acetone!

2 of my beaters. Above is an original '49 Pocket.

On the bottom is a beater Manhattan I bought cheap. Cracked backstrap and grips, all serial numbers filed away, buffed over a long time ago. Has British proofs. Screws in frame were so stuck I had to weld on the heads to get them out. Bore still shiny and nice nipples, I doubt it was ever fired.

    Now in restoration...

Mostly metal dector finds, but not the 2 M1-C snipers they were cut in half by Uncle Sam. The Mauser was found by a friend while deployed in Europe. I got the pump gun freed up enough to cycle. I have a dug Enfield musket in my office. The civil war era guns are neat but I would love a Colt SAA to display.
