    Yea... I agree.

I tend to like grips that offset the color of the firearm....like Sambar Stag or Ivory grips on Blued Iron...and something dark like Ebony Wood or Buffalo Horn on Nickeled or Stainless Steel.

I have been looking at Stag grips for my nickel SAA. I think only vintage ones with a good amount of amber/yellowing look best. A younger set that has more white in it would look better on a blue gun i think.

Of course Matt Dillion's stocks were plastic plus James Arness had hands like feet!

Stag on anything (except polymer!!!) are my all time favorite. Luckilly I still have a bunch bought when they cost $40 from places Melvin Tryler in the 80s.

I agree with Dogface 6, to much bark makes them look plastic.
    I have two SAA's with sambar, a 1901 Silver Plated, and a Turnbull redo 1961 125th. Aniv.
Both have just enough bark to show they are sambar.

I just bought some old vintage sambar stag grips off a guy on Ebay. Good yellowing, lots of great bark and some popcorning. Should have em' in a few days. I'll post up pics as soon as i install them!
