It was a good gun day today. I bought 2 brand new, never turned Custom Shop 3rd gen SAA's with factory ivory that were made in 2008. Just a really beautiful pair of guns that I couldnt pass up. These were part of an estate sale from a guy that passed away that collected Colt SAA's. The 7 1/2" is a black powder frame 44-40 which I had really been wanting. The 4 3/4" is a 45. Not sure what I'll do with the 4 3/4" yet. I might pass it along but it is so nice, I cant decide. Here you go! Sorry about the crappy pictures. Its starting to get dark here.
My ol my !! Let’s see whatcha got there !
Are the custom shop pair consecutives by chance? Just wondering. You did well, Sir.
You hit back to back home runs for sure.
Thanks! They are not consecutive . I could have bought a pair of consecutive 4 3/4" with ivory but I wanted the 7 1/2" to go with another 2005 BP frame 4 3/4" I have.
Thanks for your help. I got an immediate email response about my dual cylinder. His records indicate it SHOULD be 5-1/2”
which it isn’t! So I have a rebarrelled SA. I’ll take it LOL. Original owner like me must have preferred a 4-3/4”! If I
ever put up for sale the rebarrel would be disclosed.
I dont think it matters much on these 3rd gens. These aren't historically significant guns. Its more a matter of taste as to barrel length and caliber. The value is going to be about the same I think.
If I had them I would keep both. It's hard to Find a pair of SAA's with Ivory.
