    Unexpected Bisley

I've been looking for a decent Bisley shooter at a reasonable price for a LONG time. Well on Friday I stopped into a new to me LGS for some muzzle loading supplies and I saw this decent looking 32-20 Bisley in the consignment case. I looked it over pretty closely, thought about it overnight and yesterday called and made what I thought was a very low ball offer. They said they'd pass the offer along and to call back today. When I called back today, much to my surprise they said my offer had been accepted, so I immediately drove to the shop, paid for it and started the paperwork.

Serial number puts it at 1907, there's a reasonable amount of original blue remaining, and some CCH in protected areas. What's particularly nice, and a little surprising, is that the action, timing and lock-up are as new, as are the bore and chambers. So it should make a particularly nice shooter. Price was $1,225.00 OTD, or it will be OTD when I pick it up from its 10 day CA quarantine. I'll post some better images after pick it up. I'm pretty happy today.

    Best regards,

My opinion is free, and worth every penny of it.

Great find, amazing price! Should make for a fine shooting 1st gen. I have searched LGSs in my neck of the woods for 3 years without success. When I ask about Colt SAs they just laugh.

Great Bisley! It's about 400 away from mine. I'd have jumped on that if I stumbled on it.

Thanks all for the nice comments. Bisleys have always pretty much been my favorite SAA, probably because the first gun I ever fired was my Dad's old 38-40 Bisley when i was about 8. I've had lots of SAAs over the years, but somehow a Bisley has eluded me; either the wrong price at the right time, or the right price at the wrong time. It's nice to have one back in the stable again.

Congratulations on the Bisley. I had one like it about 30 years ago. Wish I still did.
