Thanks All! Very much for the Kudos.
As I’ve said before the stock material is a bit softer than you’d imagine. It’s softer than some fine grained walnut and definitely softer than any Rosewood.

It comes from GuitarPartsAndMore in slabs that look like two sets of playing cards.

I rough cut with a bandsaw and start shaping with a belt sander and medium files. Then use 120 grit wrapped around various things like a piece of broom handle and hard piece of shaped leather, sand with 400 and polish with FLITZ on a piece of burlap.

ELKMAN1 You will like it or I’ll buy it back. ;-)
Thank you again for the opportunity to take some artistic freedoms on this one! And she should shoot really well too!

I’ve made one set using the s-type and like them very much. I wish a slightly aged color was available.

I really like the Resin-S ivory that I have on one of my pietta's that a forum member fitted for me. It looks very close to ivory, to the point that some really knowledgeable folks actually thought it was until closer inspection. Having said that, I bought some recently for a 1911, already made up and ready to go. I am less than satisfied with those. There is way too much of a wood grain appearance to them. They don't even look like ivory in my opinion. I am not sure why that is, but it's not a very good look and I will be returning them.

I just ordered a set today and was wondering about a way to age them.

Bill does primo work. Anybody who wants some quality Resin Ivory grips should have Bill do the work. Here's my 7.5" .357 mag that Bill finished last month. Superb. He even fire-blued the screws. Love it!
