    150th Anniversary Colt SAA?

I know I'm jumping the gun, pun intended, but what would you like to see Colt issue on the 150th anniversary of the SAA?

I wouldn't want to bet the farm that there will even be any SAAs coming out of Colt in four years..Would love to see a run of black powder frames, complete with all early features, including original barrel roll markings, and assembled with the skill & care that was their standard at the time .

If it comes from the Colt Custom shop it will cost an arm and a leg.

I guess they could be made in Mexico, China, or Spain for a lot cheaper, I would rather pay the extra to Colt for a Colt copy of a gen. 1 BP.

I think I would like to see a run of exactly what the first run was in style, caliber, markings, and quantity but with a unique serial number like 150SAXXXX. I don't want it issues by the custom shop as I would like to be able to afford one so the $2000 range would be about right.

From what Colt has put out before as Commemoratives it'll be something like Cal. 22, lots of cheap gold plating, laser engraving with plastic pearl grips.
Colt can produce some butt ugly guns that end up selling for about 20% of what they would sell for if the were plain SAA's
    Don't hold your breath.

Actually some Colt commemoratives are quite nice. The Peacemaker Centennial comes to mind and was the only 2'nd Gen SAA with the black powder frame. These even had the cone firing pin and beveled cylinders. I think something along these lines would make a great 150 Year Anniversary Model. An anniversary model should be as close to the 1'st Gen SAAs as possible IMO.

With none of the goofy scribble on it. Just a perfect copy of number 1.

Funny! I just made a comment on this topic recently in the 125th Anniversary thread. I would love a straight plain-Jane 7.5” SAA as close to early (1875-ish) features as Colt can get! If they HAVE to stick some Anniversary markings on there, please do like the 125th and do just the stocks/medallions.

I didn’t think about how close we are to 150. My vote is in!
