Well, interesting. Lets see what Jim has to say!

The other night I was watching "Lawman" and the bad guy's name was Jim Martin. Since I know that Jim was a fast draw coach back then for Hollywood I couldn't help but wonder if they used Jim's name as in inside joke or to play tribute to him for his help.

The Youngest. Troop catches Jim Martin cheating at cards. When he draws against Dan, it's kill or be killed. When his wife and three sons come and bury the body they decide to now pay their respects to the marshal, the exact same way.

John Russell liked his guns (and had good taste). If you're ever in LA, he's buried in the National Cemetery on Wilshire near the 405 fwy.

It's natural for John Russell to have a 1903 in his hands...he was a Marine on Guadalcanal and earned a battlefield commission. He was eventually invalided out due to severe malaria he contracted.

What!, somebody tried to draw against Jim Martin!
Boot hill for sure!

I apologize for not commenting,I've had a lot going on & haven't been on here as often as I usually am & then forgot the posting,I never worked a "Lawman" show but I did work a charity fund raiser for the indian tribal council w/John Russell in that same time period for about 3 hrs & then we had lunch together, his wife was w/him that day & the other people @ our table were Bob Cummings & his wife, Rodd Redwing,Jock Mahoney & Jay Silverheels. The only reason my name could have been used in the show would've been if Rodd or Charlie Aldridge had written the script, back then they did do some name dropping quite often.Later on Charlie wrote an old west novel that had a gunsmith that worked on mysterious gunfighters guns & used my name for the character.
Love the Jim Martin stories!
