Any recommendations on 1st gen service?

I want to have my 1st gen serviced properly, not restored, just an action job and a hammer rebuild and replace any worn or questionable parts with period correct pieces. Called Colt, they wont service first gens anymore. Then called Peacemaker specialists and they told me they dont work on 1st gens anymore either. So now Im wondering where to try next. Anyone have any insight to help me out, I would greatly appreciate it.

Cozmo, didn't you start a list of quality SAA smiths?

I believe Bill doesn't really wish to rebuild hammers. That was what he said back when I needed one done. He said it was the least favorite thing to do with a Colt SAA. I had Jim Martin do mine. I made a friend along the way with Jim too.

Jim Martin worked on one of my 1st Gen SAA's. He covers all the bases...knowledgeable, quick and excellent work. I would say the gun is better than when it left the factory.

Thank you all for the suggestions. I will try to pm jim martin first. My hammer is not bad, just doesnt have the first notch.
Goes right to half cock, locks up tight but is slightly out of time( have to turn cyl less than 1/8 inch to line up ejector rod with chamber). Also gate is loose.

UPDATE: I spoke with Jim this morning, what a remarkable man, it was an awesome and enlightening conversation. Before I knew it we had been talking for two hours. I am sending him my SAA for service, and am very excited to have him work on it. Thank you for putting me together with him.
