    Jim Martinís Great Western Buntline

I was visiting Jim Martin at Single Action Specialties on business and was asking him about the original Great Western Single Actions. I had the pleasure of seeing this Great Western Buntline and the Alfonso Buntline rig that he paired with it. The one piece mesquite grips he made for it are stunningly beautiful. Attached are the pictures. Thanks for the hospitality and the history lesson Jim.

Jim Martin is the old master of all varieties of the SAA!

Must have been fun to visit with him and see his shop!

Anytime you talk to him you will learn something-

    Thanks for posting!

That's my workbench the Buntline is laying on,on the bench just behind the holster are several gun parts to an old Sheriff's mdl that's going back to it's owner in the morning

The gun and holster are great but a peak at the Master’s workbench, now that’s SPECIAL! I noticed the cylinder doing double duty as a pencil holder. I have the same thing on my meager bench, great minds ........ aw, forget that

The brass grip frame Great Western Fast Draw Model is one Iíve been looking to add to my collection forever but it has been impossible for me to find. Of course Jim has one with the original grips though to keep them pristine he keeps them in the box and shoots it with Stag grips.
