Just a few observations, anytime a laquer style finish is added to the case hardening it is no longer "original" then if u remove it & don't do it right u may damage the original CC finish {if it was indeed the original finish] again not "original".Then there's the addition of the piano wire spring, again not original. Then there's the color of the blueing under the ejector housing,I can't remember ever seeing it the exact same color as the rest of the blueing on the bbl because it's been protected from any exposure by being under the housing leading me think it's been re-blued.

This is in addition to my posting about the originality of the finish, this is the 1st time I've ever seen serial #'s stamped in this position on the backstrap.

I just talked to the owner and he is going to take the gun back. I really appreciate all the help here. I don't know whether he saw this thread or not but I did mention it in my email to him. Thanks again, what a relief.

I'm glad to hear he is a stand up guy (who ever he is) and that you kept a record of who you got the gun from!

Once you get your money in hand, you should let us know who he is...give the heads up to a good dealer of Colts.

Glad to hear you're getting your money back and the dealer seems OK with it.
I am kind of wondering what he said...if anything.

Probably 'Damn! He found out. Oh, well, plenty of fish in the sea...'

Congratulations on getting your money back - that doesn't always happen.

Posting out a mans name to praise or drag through the mud is an odd thing in its self . This could very well be as some say here , learning curve or big boys club or tuition payed to an expensive hobby to the sell as well . ? Perhaps this seller has to back track to get his investment return ?
