    More USA USFA pointers

Thank you Cozmo. Great and informative thread. If you could share a few more tips on how to identify the USA made USFA's it would be appreciated.

The Shootist: Uberti or USFA or a parts gun?

    I start with
    front sight profile
    USFA barrel logo
I check known serial numbers..looking for something above 22000 for a Premium Model SAA USA made gun
Hand cut checkering on the hammer, cone firing pin and the larger flutes on the cylinder

I actually had Lanara do this for me on one of my guns a few years back with a replacement cylinder.

The polishing quality looks good to me. That gunsmith apparently believed in quality control, and knew what quality looked like! And he may have "straightened out" a job not-so-well-done by Colt.
