I had every intention of seeing this frame assembly as a 7.5" 44Spl.

But I tripped over a barrel and cyl. combination in .45L.C. Uh, and you know the rest.

I have a love for the .44 Special. But, a .45 4 3/4 is a great revolver.
I like what you did there. This 2nd Gen. 7 1/2".44 Special was once a broken .357....
Living a dream.

oldies, That project certainly turned out well!!
I have some of both. I have more 44 specials. Two reasons. First whether it`s safe or not those paper thin cylinder walls over the cylinder notches scare me even if they are said to be safe. Second, with the .45 colts, it`s like hitting the jackpot if the measurements between the cylinder and barrel are actually compatible. The .44 specials you dont hear of that problem.
I have a .45 colt. The first time I took it out I had to pound out the fired factory ammo cases plus they were scary swelled!
I had bought the gun used but looked new. I sent it back to colt with the request for a cylinder with the removable bushing.
The gun came back with the old cylinder PLUS a new one with the removable bushing NUMBERED to the gun! They didn't charge me a dime! The 45 colt has the wood grips, the 44 special the gutta percha.
Thanks, Gents, for the interest. Let the shooting commence.

It is a board for the game of sequence. Lot of fun.
