    Colt SAA NRA Commemorative......Value??

Found this today locally. Anyone know about these? Removable bushing model? Seem to be priced reasonably for a shooter. I can usually get a discount off of this price also. Worth pursuing?

Well it looks like a cylinder change and hammer clean up would make it proper again
    Make them a offer
Most commerative are less to buy
    Gen2 or Gen3?
I would offer 1200 out the door
    Worth a shot
    God Bless,John

Couldn't the cylinder just be striped and re-blued?

It sure can, if plated. And the jeweled hammer can be sanded with #600 wet/dry to a soft in-the-white appearance. I personally do not like Commemoratives, by Colt, Win, or Marlin - because They Were Made To Be Collected.

IMHO items made to be Collectibles rarely end up being collected by serious collectors..........................there! did I use derivatives of "collect" enough in one sentence???

It looks like a nice SAA except for the cylinder and the hammer. I fell certain the gold on the cylinder can be easily removed and the hammer can be made to look like standard production. If you do much of the work yourself, you will save money, but if you have a gunsmith do that work, that will add on to the price.
The other negative is it probably has a special serial number.
