    Received my Colt letter today

This is for the 3rd gen master engraved gun I bought back in September. Yes, it took 4 months to get a freaking letter from Colt but it's here and I'm happy. The gun is exactly what the seller described and this gun was owned by the head of the Colt Custom Shop at the time.

So, this gun was made to commemorate the 200th birthday of Samuel Colt. Pretty cool. My take-away is that apparently it takes three years to manufacture a custom engraved gun like this. Crikey, this gun was a freaking bargain then! Also, apparently Mr. Turchi didn't own it for very long as it went on auction on GB back in September 2019 and someone here reported seeing it on auction earlier in the year with an even higher buy it now price than what I paid for it. Not sure I'll ever get my money back out of it but that isn't why I bought it.

I may have some custom one piece grips made for it at some point.

    This is the gun.

Wish my wife didn't tear open the envelope the letter came in and then throw it in the trash... but that's another story.

Brent was an amazing asset to Colt. It was a dark day when they screwed up and parted ways. He helped many of us often. Treasure that gun, it belonged to a great man. He still stops by to visit here.

It didn’t belong to him for very long. I do treasure it though, thanks.

SD, I like your response to GS man , which you referenced twice .
i will answer your question - DAGO is a nickname for San Diego .

Your turn , I won’t ask you what you paid - but what was the buy now you referenced in OP ?

    Also,

I hope your wife didn’t throw the envelope on what I sent you . I went out of my way to have a West Hartford postmark.

Lastly, this SAA would be the blue chip of my collection. Nice to know you will keep it forever .
