Price check on 1902 Colt SAA.

There's a lettered 1902 Colt SAA (.45 Colt) that I'm considering jumping on. Would $915.00 plus shipping and FFL fees be a fair price? Apparently the cylinder (stamped 822) is a first generation replacement. The backstrap, frame, and trigger guard serial numbers match. According to the seller, it has good timing and excellent lockup. No rust or pitting.

Certainly, It is about half-priced. Where does the letter say it was shipped?

St. Louis, MO on Sept. 30, 1902. Would that date be well past the BP cutoff? It does have a smokeless powder frame.

It appears way too cheap tread carefully. More dealers would be prone to price that gun at nearly $3000 instead of under $1000.

Proceed with caution. As Jim (coltsixguns) said, waaay too cheap. Ask seller for additional pics, then tell him you'd like to pick it up in person. That could flush out a scammer.

Per your question, 203xxx serial range begins smokeless powder.

Will do -- received more pictures. Still worth the price?

Great price for the gun, if the deal is real.

    Best regards,
My opinion is free, and worth every penny of it.

What a great buy, if it 'pans out'.

This gun was originally listed for $2650. I would say if you can get it for the price you listed, jump on it.
