Antique Merwin Hulbert 38 Caliber with Folding Hammer + Original Box

This double action revolver was made sometime in the 1880's. It is a .38 caliber centerfire. Notice it does have a folding hammer. A very high percentage of the original nickel finish remains. I would call it 98%+. In the pictures it looks like you can see rust, but it is just reflections. Original case color remains on the hammer, trigger, and barrel latch. Action works perfectly in double or single action and is tight. The Merwin Hulbert suction from the barrel to the frame is still there. These pistols are famous for the precision machining involved in the manufacturing process. Grips are perfect with no damage and a perfect fit. Bore in the 3 1/2" barrel is shiny with good lands and grooves. It will rate about a seven on a one to ten scale. The box looks to be original. It is a very rare find and is in very good condition. This is one of the best I've had. It will make a great addition to any collection. All forum rules apply. First I will take it wins. $2350 shipped.
