Gentlemen,
I have in my possession a 1851 Navy Colt that by the serial number was manufactured in 1864...The gun has been engraved and in some point in its life it was to my thinking reblued..On the backstrap it has the name [Strout] engraved..I am researching this for a friend who wants to sell this pistol and would like to know who to turn to to get a correct value before we put it up for sale..One thing to mention is that his father bought the pistol from a man in the 50s who told him that this pistol has a twin......I did a little research and found that there were I believe three Strout brothers in the war from the state of Maine..Where should I begin?

Please post a number of photos so those forum members who know can appropriately assess the revolver.
