1860 Colt

Recently picked up an old 1860 Colt Army serial 144866. All original matching numbers. I’ve heard about a Springfield Research Service book that might contain info. Would someone out there perhaps have these books That could do a quick search of this serial number or offer other advice? I found a listing for 144865 that went to the 20th NY Cavalry Co. K. Any help is appreciated.
