1874 Colt Open Top Pocket Model .22 S/N# 8951

I've acquired this Colt .22 and don't have much information on it. It's in okay condition, it looks like it could still fire it (I won't unless it gets checked out first), appears all the bluing is gone, but the wood stocks look good and there does seem to be some significant pitting.

Anyone have an estimate on how much it may be worth?

If you want to shoot it - confine yourself to .22 CB Caps.

I've seen a goodly number with blown apart cylinders from modern .22 Shorts.

It's basically built of soft wrought iron.

Nice little 7 shot revolver! Welcome to the Colt Forum and thanks for joining us!
Hello and welcome to the forum from West Virginia. Glad your here. Nice little pistol.
Yours was made 1874. Dont shoot it, it's a black Powder gun.
I have five of these in different finishes, bronze, blued, nickel w/ wood grips and nickel w/ ivory grips, engraved nickel. I think If you used 22 short BB you might be ok, but I won't take a chance with mine
