I have received a model 1878 from a co-worker that wants grandpa's gun restored as best as possible. Yea I know they are somewhat difficult but he does want it to work. I have restored a model 1877 and got it working, no small job. Anyway can anyone help me to find some of the small parts, springs and such. The major parts are there but I need everything that goes inside. I have the hammer, main spring. trigger , loading gate, frame and barrel, trigger guard, ejector housing and rod, cylinder and base pin and frame plate (round), and stocks (they are perfect) and I think all the screws. He sent it to a gunsmith for bluing and this is what he got back after a couple of years.
Any help would be appreciated.

Rolland, any update on the restoration progress? I realize this thread is aging gracefully; but, I am trying to educate myself on Model 1878 double actions before buying one. Thanks.
