A real dog. Pitted and reblued - but the rarity made me purchase it. Total Navy contract was 250 pistols. This one was shipped Oct 12, 1900 to the Navy Yards in Brooklyn, NY in the first shipment of 50 serial #1001-1050 or #1-50.
Inspected/acceptance by Lt Charles A Brand - note the "B" in the triangle stamping. Also this has a mismatched slide which is stamped with 1037 and the trident stamp near the serial number/firing pin housing.
