Need some grip info.

I have a new 1911 A1 Ithaca (Marked US Goverment) that was purchased new at the end of WWII. The grips were replaced with some stags. There are two sets colt ones in the box, one wood, one plastic.
Which is correct?

Thanks for the help,
Munster

Later WWII USGI grips were fully checkered brown plastic.

Care to elaborate on the "It was purchased new at the end of WWII".

Th US government wasn't selling USGI 1911-A1 pistols in those days, unless it was possibly at the Camp Perry National Matches.
