Got to handle a super nice 1911 of 1916 vintage. Everything correct on this Colt but the front sight blade was gold. Correct size and not plated but gold. What's up with that?? Thanks Steve B.
Hi, Steve B. You don't mean, like a McGivern gold bead? The whole blade is gold? Either way, I've never heard of either on anything Colt. Now, THAT'S a definitive answer, eh?
Just like a regular 1911 front sight, but it is made out of Gold. This gun can be documented as having that unique front sight since the thirties.... Steve B.
